Since changing ownership in June 2016, Beerwah Hideaway has undergone an amazing transformation in 14 short months !

In its original form, the Hideaway had so much potential, and new owners Amanda and Glen had a vision to transform the venue into the stunning space that it is today. The added challenge was that all projects had to be completed in very tight time frames in between weddings.

Function Room Transformation

The function room was first on the agenda, and along with a local builder and crew of local tradesmen, the outdated function room was demolished and totally rebuilt in a space of just 8 weeks!

The space has been dramatically transformed from a low bamboo lined leaky roof with purple walls to a large modern light filled functional space. The new aptly named “Rainforest Room” now boasts high ceilings, with floor to ceiling glass frontage overlooking the rainforest creek and opening out onto the garden deck.

Deck Transformation

Another major project involved transforming the rundown pool area into a stunning timber deck that extends out from the function room, flowing seamlessly from indoor to outdoor through the row of vast glass doors. As the images below highlight, the transformation was dramatic and provides a beautiful outdoor entertaining space to suit the Sunshine Coast climate and lifestyle.

Creek Cleanup

One of the Hideaway’s best natural assets, the rainforest creek had been used for a dumping ground for many years, so inbetween tradies and guests, the clean up began. Tonnes of scrap metal, including a washing machine and hot water system were removed! The car proving too big for the excavator, so it has become a feature for photos. The area is now a perfect backdrop for a rustic ceremony or bridal photos.

Garden lighting & pathways

Once the major renovation of the function room was complete, the next priority was garden lighting and pathways. The fairy light tree and garden chapel are just two amazing night time photo opportunities.

Landscaping & cascade waterfalls

The latest improvement has been major landscaping, including the stunning cascade waterfall and pond situated in the front of the grounds, providing a third ceremony option and a lovely photo backdrop.

Other projects have included internal and external painting, rebranding and marketing, IT and administration upgrades, decor and accommodation upgrades.
