I had successfully hidden the ring from Brittany for the first 3 weeks of our Scandinavian holiday, and I was determined to propose in Iceland. I missed many great opportunities, mostly due to nervousness, and it had come to our last day in Iceland so I had to just do it. We went to Kerid, which is a beautiful volcanic crater. As we circled around the top of it, I went for it. I don’t remember too much of what I said exactly, as I’ve never been so nervous in my life. Luckily, Brittany said yes, and we get to always remember Iceland as the place where we got engaged.
Why did you choose Beerwah Hideaway:
Beerwah Hideaway was actually the first and only venue we checked out. We instantly loved the feel and look of the venue and knew it was the one for us! We also loved that the package included so much, so we didn’t have to organise every little thing on the day.
Describe your theme for the day:
We didn’t really have a theme in mind for our wedding, we kind of just went with the beautiful greenery and rustic feel that Beerwah Hideaway has to it. We had pink, burgundy, greens and whites for our flowers.
Brittany’s highlight of the day:
Reading our vows to each other, and getting to spend some time together while getting our photos taken after the ceremony.
Shayne’s highlight of the day:
Seeing Brittany walk down the aisle.
Tips or words of wisdom for future brides/grooms-to-be:
Try to be relaxed and don’t sweat the small stuff. Enjoy the day and make it the day you want it to be!
