Lisa & Kel Vines
People cross paths in life and you just don’t know when you might crisscross again. When we first met in 2015, we’d both lived, loved, & lost loved ones, and Kel asked me to lunch which ended up lasting 9 hours. Every day after we just mashed and grew as one. We survived a six week overseas trip in Sept & Oct 2017, during which we saw all of our eight children face to face. Kel had made my ring remodeled from a gift my give children had given me, and we purchased Kel’s ring in Ireland when we celebrated with Kel’s close friends. Our proposal was very intimate and personal; two lives that just flowed together, with two families that loved each parent respectively. They joined our journey, and had to learn and grasp this new challenge we presented them with. We wanted to celebrate with all of our eight children together, with which overseas workers and travelling itineraries seemed impossible. However, in October we got confirmation of my eldest son coming home for Christmas, and thus our wedding plans began for a four day window in December.
We have 8 adult children, grandchildren and elderly parents, but our commitment to each other was just between us, and it was very personal and deep. We wanted a private “us” space where we were the focus to each other, and then we celebrated with our family and close friends that evening.
This special place and their staff offered us a beautifully cared for space where we could literally step outside of the busy world, hideaway and enjoy the most natural and special weekend, and indulge in style.
Describe your theme for the day:
The night before, the morning preparation, the ceremony, photos, lunch and then to close our day with our children, relatives and close friends. Our day was the highlight. I married the love of my life, and the warm and loving environment of the Hideaway set the tone.
The highlight of the day – groom:
The outstanding warmth, care and service we experienced definitely set the tone. We were enveloped in a “nothing’s too difficult (even a broken shoe)” environment, and their efforts made my special day perfect, marrying the love of my life.
In the midst of all the arranging, the most precious detail is the love you have for each other. Remember the reason for the wedding and keep the focus on the two of you – that should be your number one priority.
