Amy & Tim Mawn
Tim and I went on a trip to travel around the South Island of New Zealand, we ventured around so many beautiful towns and hiked everywhere. During our stay in Queenstown we went to have lunch in the botanical gardens. It was the middle of Spring, so there were baby ducklings everywhere trying to share our lunch! While I was distracted with the animals, Tim got the ring out and asked me to marry him! I later found out he’d been carrying the ring in his sock for three days waiting for the perfect moment!
We had looked at loads of venues and were actually almost at the stage of giving up on finding what we wanted but then we found The Hideaway! We chose it because of its beautiful backdrop of lush greenery, and the grounds!
Describe your theme for the day:
Besides walking towards the man of my dreams, it would of had to be the conga line where everyone got up and joined. Thinking about it makes me laugh, still!
The groom’s highlight of the day:
Either when Amy first walked up and we were holding hands during our ceremony, or when my grandma came up to me half way through the night and said how it was the happiest wedding she’d ever attended – and she’s in her 90’s!
Go with the flow. The day is for two people to celebrate their love, and so many people lose focus of this over the materialistic things. While we loved indulging ourselves, we left a lot of room to play with all of our vendors (let’s be honest, they’re the real professionals). I wouldn’t have changed a thing, and cannot thank them all enough! Huge credit to the team at Beerwah Hideaway, even though it rained on our original plan, the backup was even more beautiful.
